The final blog! To be honest, I wasn't that excited to write this blog. The styles of music are not as familiar as the things I’ve written about in the past. In the instructions for the blog it was stated that if you knew the song you basically couldn’t use it. That made me uncomfortable at first but I’m glad I reached out of my comfort zone and explored some other music. The first continent I chose to talk about was North America of course. First, traditional music from the culture, I chose a song entitled The One I Love. I am personally not a big fan of the music that comes out of the Native American culture but I chose the song because I felt it showed/encaptured it pretty well. The drums, voices and unification really gave it the authentic Native American song feel. The next song I chose was a modern take on the culture of North American Native music.
